DIY LEATHER GIFT BOX (PDF leather pattern)

Description:

This is a leather gift box inspired by furoshiki, a traditional Japanese wrapping method. You can use this leather box as a gift box or to keep your small accessories and jewelry together.

This pattern has 3 sizes. You can purchase the size you need or all 3 sizes.

The sizes (the box size) are:

- Small (LWH = 6cm x 6cm x 4cm)
- Medium (LWH = 10cm x 6cm x 4cm)
- Large (LWH = 10cm x 6cm x 8cm)

Please contact me if there are any holes that aren’t in the right place.

Required tools and materials:

MATERIALS:

1. Leather: 1 - 1.5mm. Veg tanned is acceptable, but chrome tanned is preferred.

Needed leather surface:
Small size ~ 0.8 sq ft
Medium size ~ 1.1 sq ft
Large size ~ 1 sq ft

2. Waxed thread (0.65 - 0.8 mm)
3. Tokonole
4. Marking tape

TOOLS:

1. Sharp knife
2. Plastic hammer or mallet
3. 1.5mm and 3mm hole puncher
4. Needles
5. 600 grit sand paper, burnisher, edge beveler
